Story focus: Miles Quaritch is a Marine general researching Pandora and the Na'vi. He wanted to exploit their resources for profit on Earth and sent Jake Sully in his avatar—his Na'vi body—into Pandora. After Jake met Neytiri and discovered Pandora’s beauty, he attacked the marines, causing heavy losses. Quaritch attempted to retreat but was deceived and left behind on Pandora, stranded in his avatar/Na'vi form.
